Only somewhat related, but I have a friend who just had surgery because his uvula was too long. They did about 4 different things to help his sleep apnea, and excising the uvula was just one. Supposed to be one of the most painful surgeries ever. Can't eat much of anything for 3-4 weeks.I don't understand. You always hear about people swallowing their tongue. They don't have to cut it off. It just happens and then the paramedics have to fish it out.
Maybe it's something that can happen when you're unconscious? Maybe it just slides in there?
Maybe if I really relax I can do it.
