I know everyone's really concerned about this, so I did some research. Both of those articles mention 45 mph, but neither reference what study they got this from. I was suspicious that they were mentioning it in terms of acceleration. Whenever anything changes direction quickly, that's a lot of acceleration, but only for a short time. Saying that something experiences 45 mph/second acceleration does not mean that it gets to 45 mph.
Here's the only study of boob velocity that I found, and the top recorded boob velocity was under 4 mph.

That makes a lot more sense. 45 mph is a dangerously high nipple speed.
