The Yankees and their announcers really do relish it when the Red Sox lose.
The Baltimore Orioles sold their soul and their fan base for this series.
The Red Sox and their fans have a long off season to deal with (even longer if the Yankees win the World Series)
I hate working in a NY bar full of Yankee fans
Masturbating doesn't take away this sting.

The O's celebrated like they were the ones going to the postseason. I was really impressed with the heart that team showed. It also says a lot about Buck Showalter and how he manages his teams.

Although unlikely, it would be pretty crazy if Damon got another championship this year. Bosox, Yanks, and Rays? Wow.

And for Boston fans, the hurt will surely be reduced after hearing Tim Wakefield's statement earlier.

"I've definitely made up my mind that I definitely want to come back next year. I have another goal in front of me that I'd like to accomplish, and that’s the all-time record for the Red Sox in wins. I’m only seven away. I think the fans deserve an opportunity to watch me chase that record."

Might take him until the 2013 season to secure that one.

I didn't even think about damon. That would be wild. A 3rd ring (on a 3rd team) would have people talking HOF. That + him sticking around for 3000 hits would get him in.

Joe Girardi won three rings as well. Damon won't get in on the back of 3000 hits, he has had a decent career but a distinct lack of killer years. If there was a Hall Of Very Good, he'd be a first ballot HOFer in that.

With him playing in the steroid era and not being one of the names thrown around as a user, I think 3000 hits and his clean record will help him tremendously with getting into the HOF. First ballot no, but HOF yes.

I didn't learn anything about my team that I didn't already know and expect.

The Braves are a bunch of choking dogs and have been for 20 years. The Cards and Phils did me a favor last night. I'm seriously relieved that I don't have to watch them fail in the post season again this year.

So selfless of him, looking out for the fans like that.

How can you not get in with 3000 hits?

It should not be an automatic milestone that gets you in anymore I agree...

if I guy like Damon sticks around and has a very long pretty good career and ACCUMULATES 3k hits, that is nice... but I don't think he should get in if only 2 times in 17 years of playing was he even GOOD ENOUGH to be an All-star for that particular year...

think about it

now if Omar Vizquel does stay around, and some freak miracle happened in the off season, and then some injuries where he played a full 150 game sched and he got 3000 hits. I'd say he might be worth discussion.
