times.. they are a changing

I don't think Damon will get in

he is helped by the "fame" part... but had he played in KC his whole career, or moved onto places like Balt, Pittsburgh, Zona. He would not have anywhere near as much "fame"

maybe if the guy had had a better arm and glove, i'd listen to arguments more

Johnny Damon is NOT a hall of famer. He's not even that close to 3,000 hits anyway. Would need 2 more very productive seasons to get there.

He's a career .286 hitter who has broken .300 only 5 times in his 16 year career. He's had 200 hits ONCE in his career. He was always a below average fielder with a bad arm.

He's a TWO time All Star. Twice, in 16 years he's made an All-Star team.

No. no no no. NO!

Johnny Damon is NOT making the Hall of Fame.

he will get 3000 hits and he will get in the HOF.

Bank on it.

the only players not in the HOF with 3,000 hits

Palmerio - steroids are the only thing keeping him out
Biggio - 7 time All-Star with over 300 more hits than Damon; will probably make it
Jeter - a lock
Rose - we know he belongs

seems like if you hit that milestone, you have a really good chance of getting in

Again, Damon has made TWO all star teams in 16 years. He's a nice player but he's never making the Hall of Fame.

Never.

Biggio's not in and he was a better player than Damon.

Biggio was a 7-time All-Star, 4-time Gold Glove winner, and a 5-time Silver Slugger winner. He's 20th all time in hits, 5th all time doubles, 13th in runs, and 17th in times on base.

Damon has never won a silver slugger or a gold glove (laughs). He's nowhere near Biggio in any of these top 100 lists all time except that he's creeping up in hits. He's not a Hall of Famer. He's just not.

I'm saying he's never going to make it. He's definitely not a first ballot.

Biggio will be lucky to make it eventually.

Plainly stated, if Johnny Damon makes the hall of fame he would be in the bottom tier of hitters there....with Lou Brock, Ozzie Smith and Brooks Robinson. He would be on the hitting tier with players that were mostly included for defensive prowess (or stolen bases in the case of Brock). And Johnny Damon was not a great defensive player by any stretch.

Just off hand when I hear the name Johnny Damon, I can't believe he could ever get into the H of F even with 3000! IMO Biggio was a better player!

Last I heard Jamie Moyer was going to continue pitching till he gets 300 wins! Guy in the back of his mind thinks he will get into the Hall by reaching that number! Unreal!
