I'd hope so he's 23. Arencibia is good defensively but I'd rather have D'arnaud's bat.
Jays also have Anthony Gose, David Cooper and Jake Marisnick....and many more.

How about a trade? The Vlady Guerrero thing is a cute notion - nothing to lose but a few bucks so why not? - but how about obtaining a guy we know can play today?
Eric Thames (if, as we all hope and pray, can stay healthy) is on pace for 33 RBI. 62 runs scored.
I've heard he is not even particularly good defensively. There must be an outfielder that can be freed up somewhere who can do better than that.
Colby Rasmus? He's been here for chunks of 2 seasons now and he hasn't done anything. And he wasn't doing much of anything before that.

Rasmus is a good CF but very inconsistent at bat. KJ and EE have been nice surprises as I didn't expect much out of them. If the Jays can replace Lind and Rasmus I'd be happy. Thames isn't THAT bad.

unreal to me that a team that hits as badly as the Pirates are only 4 games back of first.
hopefully their Vet pitchers keep doing well and the Pirates can flip them at the deadline for some young almost MLB ready sluggers

Blue Jays optioned 1B Adam Lind to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Lind was batting just .186/.273/.314 through 132 plate appearances this season and finished with a .251/.295/.439 slash line last year. He still has good pop, but Toronto can't afford to string him along in an American League East that looks as competitive as ever. Yan Gomes has been promoted in a corresponding move. Lind will likely be brought back quickly if he begins producing at the Triple-A level.
