I heard a commentator complaining about the use of the infield shift in MLB. He hates it. He proposed having a rule where there are designated zones within which fielders must position themselves.

He has less than 14 innings left on his doctor-imposed limit of 180 innings in this his first year back from Tommy John surgery.

Would he actually go full Stephen Strasburg and shut down? Skip the post-season - if they even make it - which will be harder to do if he decides he's had enough after his next couple starts? That's what his agent (Scott Boras) would like. Not unreasonable given the sort of contract that will be in his future if he stays healthy.

Probably naive to think that team goals/results should be anywhere in this equation.
