Matt Williams.

He's the manager of the Nationals. Like Dan Jennings of the Marlins, Williams constantly does things that are ultimately -EV to justify his job.

He gave the Mets pitcher an out by instructing Rendon (a poor hunter) to bunt on a 3-1 count because Williams "feared the double play".

There was a 12% chance the double play would happen. Matt Williams doesn't know stuff like that so he had Rendon bunt and he made an out while failing to advance Werth.

Oakland Athletics could relocate to San Jose or Santa Clara.

Not sure how I feel about that. I know many people would be put out on the grounds of going aqainst tradition.

I myself don't give a crap about tradition and, if I did, Oakland is already against tradition as it is the 3rd (??) stop for that franchise. Something like that?

Tradition shmadition, basically.

But whatever. Less chance for fans to get shanked at a game I imagine.

Looks like the 5 playoffs spots are set in the NL but will be an interesting finish in the AL! Right now Yanks ahead with Twins, Astros, Rangers, Angels, and even the Indians in the hunt to be one of the 3 teams making it along with KC and the Jays!

Glancing at schedule Twins have 2 series left with Cleveland and play also LA! Houston has 2 series with Texas and also play LA! Rangers and Angels finish year with 4 in Texas! Indians have 2 series left with KC! Yank do have Jays and Mets away but also Red and White Sox at home!

Rooting on the Tribe and Texas/LA 1/2 finish in the West! Sorry Willie Bee!

The Rangers now lead the AL West! Hamels hasn't pitched great but the team seems to have come alive since he joined them!

Michael Morse has a .663 OPS this season and he's a shitty defender. How does he get playing time?

prob because the guy that starts ahead of him is maybe the worst defensive first basemen over the past 2-3 decades and as a lefty he doesn't play that often vs tough lefties like Kershaw, whom he is 0-9 career with 7 K's

He has been good with the Bucs though in limited action. .300 avg, mid .800's OPS

Pirates have one of the top 1st base prospects in all of baseball, named Josh Bell, who they will unveil next year

Pedro has been adequate for us this year with goof ball platoon righties here and there
