Well, you got a buyer for it at least. They aren't difficult to get rid of. People lose or break theirs, don't want to pay full price for a replacement, don't want a contract, etc.

Chances are extremely high that the baseband for a 4S is either 4.11.08 or 4.12.01. I'd say 99.99999%. The Gevey sims won't work with those basebands.
