I wouldn't be so sure about that. It depends on the baseband. It's highly unlikely that a 4S has an unlockable baseband.

The SAM activation method has been patched by Apple and is no longer an option.

Depending on whether it's the CDMA or GSM version I'll get a micro SIM from either Bell or Rogers.

When all else fails I'll resell the thing on eBay. I like to fuck around with electronics until I breaks them.

Chances are extremely high that the baseband for a 4S is either 4.11.08 or 4.12.01. I'd say 99.99999%. The Gevey sims won't work with those basebands.

You can downgrade if you have the SHSH blobs from an old firmware installation.

It's too late if you don't have the blobs though.

Well, then you might as well just use the phone as a Touch. It will still do wifi.

You just probably won't be able to unlock it for use on Rogers (or whoever else).

This is one of the many reasons I fucking hate Apple.

People buy them all the time. Doesn't mean they can (currently) use them on different networks necessarily.

Yeah. Some day. Although, they've been working on unlocks for those basebands for about two years.
