Often these days, the term "faceplant" is used figuratively.

That first person in the vid though - that was the literal meaning of the word.

first the australia delegation arrived at the olympic village and the apartments were broken and unfinished, an athelete almost electrecuted himself in the shower

so they went to a hotel until fixes were done, at the hotel some kids tried to rob them out front when they were heading out to eat, big aussie bodyguard knock a kid down and the other ones ran away

now they returned to the olympic village on friday and their floor caught fire after some worker threw a cigarette butt slit lit near one of the paper decorations with the country colors they have all over

Almost every Olympics as long as I remember had portents of doom as the games approach. People predicting things wouldn't be ready and there would be all kinds of organizational/circumstantial disasters - but then the games start and everything is basically fine and all the doom-sayers are forgotten.

Rio certainly has the negativity in the lead-up. I wonder how it will go.

If Chicago had received this Olympics. My house would have been 225 yards from where the velodrome was to be and about a quarter make from the BMX track

Of course we wouldn't have been able to afford to buy here either.
