I think Wally and I are sort of in the same boat here (I know that sounds gross)

Let me elaborate.

Wally and I both enjoy "capping" sports. We realize we have a TON to learn. Neither of us have ever claimed to be as knowledgeable as durito/MF'r/choo etc.

But there's a part of me that thinks Wally actually believes he can beat -110 sports over a large sample size by data mining. I mean, I
guess the Durito 500 tricked him into thinking he can. :dunno:

Wally, serious non-inflammatory question:

Can you beat -110 over a large sample size by data mining?
 
If, I didn't think there was a way to win I wouldn't bother. I don't say that to be cocky, I say it because I consider it a challenge and one where the odds are against me.

As far as the process being data mining it's more involved than just that for for the purpose of answering your question I will leave that part alone. I don't think it is easy but i do believe it can and does happen. Am I someone that can be one of those guys, i don't know but I try.

Daft, I do what I do the best way I can. I don't try to convince anyone that my methods are better than anyone else's. As Durito has pointed out I am too stupid to understand the path he has laid. He is right, I am not a smart man, I am logical though and I approach things based on logic. I can't put money out there and have no clue where it's at or who it's on. I have to see it and see where I was right or wrong after the game is over.

We'll just have to agree to disagree I guess.

I'm very confident that I can NOT beat -110 long term by using widely available data. I'm sure of it.

The only sport I've had any success in is MLB
 
Oh, and for the Durito 500, it didn't give me a delusional perspective. It did give me a great sense of pride because it was more difficult than anyone can truly understand for someone like me. Done the way I did it was difficult because of the number of plays exceeded what I would do in several years.

That challenge was a personal accomplishment and one I am proud of.

So asking me was pointless if you are gonna answer for me.
It really doesn't matter, I'm not trying to make a living at this. I enjoy it and it's a hobby.
 
Wally, you should absolutely be proud of the results of the durito 500.


But you've given us HUGH insight into your capping methods (props for putting yourself out there) and those methods will not give you
an edge long term.

It can be done (harder). There are a few ways to beat it though. If I wanted to bet it as a main source of income, I would look at modeling more and steam chasing. It would be no fun for me as it would be a job.

and this makes a huge difference when you discuss these things with guys who do this for a living...

as for Pavy and his advice, Pavy bets fucking pennies compared to others so of course he is going to tell you that there is no difference in -400 and -420 and that juice doesnt matter... let him quit his job and support himself and his family off betting shit lines and not worrying about juice...clown will be delivering pizzas with landers by season end...

Daft how much gambling money do you make every year from having an edge in which we obviously don't have any?

Speak for yourself Ray. I don't bet pennies. My minimum bet is $50 per play. Where did you get this absurd idea I bet pennies?
