Redskins are sharp

You wouldn't hedge with something -EV so it's safe to assume MIA +7 -105 is +EV correct?

When I bet it the +7 -105 was +ev based on pinny, its not anymore.

But, actually yes -ev hedges are often worthwhile (though most people probably shouldnt bother). The issue here is the EG of your bankroll vs EV of the bet. I will often take slightly -ev NFL sides when i have teasers on the other team.

I bet Wally and Pavy think theyd be better police than Daft.

Not that the truth will stop you but I have never claimed to be better than you in or at anything. In fact I have had no problems with you until your recent trolling (for lack of a better term). As for making a better mall cop though, yeah, as long as I had a scooter to chase the fok'rs down I would make a better mall cop than Daft. I wouldn't spend all my time at Ambercrombie & Fitch or checking out my profile in the store mirrors?

Wally, I guess the theory is people who really do know what they're doing are moving the line. And that's the only thing that makes a side sharp. Nobody cares about what team is rebuilding whatever, or is hot, the line movers have already done all that work more accurately. Nobody here is claiming to be one of those, besides MonkeyFucker(if here)

Wally, like i stated in that long ass post, there was nothing sharp about betting washington the day after it opened (it did move a bit back and forth to give better # throughout the week)...after looking at Pinny and Bookmaker, the sharp money hammered the opener and what i would consider public money moved it around most of the week... i could be wrong a bit, but not completely and thats how i read most lines... my post to durito was basically stating that -3 -110 was sharp compared to what it might have closed at...thats all ... hope that clears that up a bit...

its rare that i disagree with anything tomato posts, but if he thinks that betting a team where the line moves 2-3 pts or more against him in the nfl is a sharp play, i must disagree and simply move on.

Matty we're going to need a calm strike rating on Jello here.

Thread could get ugly boyzzzz

Reno, I appreciate the answer.

I have never discredited line movement. I realize that much can be learned by watching the movement and understanding why a line is moving. It is a great tool or even process for some and at the minimum something to add to the arsenal for all.

You did say at the opening RayRay and I glossed over it. My bad.

Daffy, I'm not trying to strike, nor do I have much respect for steam chasing. I want to explain to Wally why handicapping is irrelevant to steam chasing. It is already assumed the work has been done by more capable cappers with access to more info etc.

Typical "Sharp" Analysis:

Who moved the lined on Redskins/Eagles from -1 to -3?

Answer: Sharps that's why you should chase steam.

Who moved the line on Falcons/Panthers from +6 to +3?

Answer: Sharps but sharps are not always right.
