I bought a bottle of wine today and when I got home realized I don't have a proper corkscrew, I tried using a screw and pliers, only broke part of the cork off and couldn't open it.

I'll buy a legit corkscrew tomorrow and drink wine all day.

hah! I just bought one tonight! Broke the other one, on the rubber cork! :

cammi, some of the plastic ones are hard to open unless you have a really robust wine key.

its the same thing most likely. the "wine key" refers to the whole tool, which usually will include a small knife, and oftentimes a can opener.

yeah, you need to get a double hinged one to prevent breaking a cork of a cellar worthy wine which has been stored for awhile. also helps with some of the stubborn synthetic corks

thought:

i raised my cat to be a complete momma's boy to the extent that instead of having a face-off with my parents two cats (one couldn't care less), he sits near me and just stares at the other cat.

I've tried putting them in the same room, but he has no idea what to do with himself. It my fault for never exposing him to other animals in his 7 years of life.

I kind of feel like a bad mommy. Thank god this isn't a human son, or else we would have some MAJOR mommy-issues.

I get the allure of corks, rip it off the champagne to initiate a celebration, look cool in the restaurant as the waiter rips it off.

Corks at home = -ev. I picked up this drink in my home because I'm thirsty, so I don't need further delays.

Ended up buying a $4 corkscrew this morning.

I was thinking of buying the $10 deluxe model but it just didn't make sense to spend more on the corkscrew than the bottle of wine.

I care about the juice. I bought a bottle of Kevin Oleary wine on sale for $10, was normally $16.

Was going to try Wayne Gretzky's stuff but Oleary offered the better number. Both wines are from the Niagara region of Ontario.

I'm used to drinking my old mans homemade wine - very dry stuff. We only buy wine when the home made stuff is unavailable.
