Lactation consultants, you say.
Today FreeFall qualified for health care in a matter of 30 minutes. I showed them my bank statement, I showed them my utility bill, my passport, and my ID. I walked out with healthcare that costs me nothing and was given to me very kindly by Roxanne from Costa Rica. What is everyone bitching about?

I'm paying $610 per month for an individual plan. I want to qualify for something.
You should do much better, shortly, if they don't fuck things up.
I looked at the new plans available in Colorado, everyone is exactly the same as the shitty plan I have now. They do give subsidies if you make under 90k I think. I make -∞ so maybe I qualify.
What I don't know is if I currently am insured thru an individual policy if I am eligible for an exchange. I think I checked with the Colorado exchange at the time I was looking around and was quoted about the same price. Keep in mind I have pre existing diagnoses with back problems and depression. Some companies would not even insure me because of those two things. You should do much better, shortly, if they don't fuck things up.
I'm assuming you mean Medicaid? Medicare is for persons 65 plus? He's full of shit.
Medicare eligibility requires for a single person a monthly income below $957 and assets of less than $2,000.
They have to insure you but you still have to go thru a lengthy questionare and your Pre existing conditions set your premium. They only have to insure you...there is no promise of a cheap premium...mine was quoted about $600 a month on the Colorado exchange. I would assume it would be similar in SD.They have to insure you now. You can pick any of the companies on the exchange there are no pre-existing bull shit anymore.

I am no longer making $90,000 but I would not qualify for Medicaid or any sort of subsidy. That, and there are too many things I would have to divulge that I don't want to be brought to government attention, so I will just continue to bitch about the $610 a month as there appears to be nothing else much I can do.
IAG, $610 a monthly doesn't sound that bad really! I've seen plans for husband and wife anywhere from 700 to 1300 monthly! Depends too on how much deductible you take, family doc fees amount and prescription cost per pick up! And let's not get Rito started on healthcare costs!
