Are you violating any type of Narcotics Anonymous code, if you just sell drugs but don't use them? :bee:

That's an interesting question. I have known multiple people keeping sober in AA who were bartenders or worked at a liquor store. They talk about it openly and get nothing but support.

Yet I suspect dealing drugs would not be seen so sympathetically in NA. It is somehow not so clean. Anyone doing it would probably just not bring it up during meetings.

I'm trying to think of how they are different and they really aren't. I don't see how the issue of legality bears on the principle of the matter. Both jobs are kind of contrary to the 12th Step but you can make an argument (rationalization??) around that.

It's been like 20 years since I was at an NA meeting so I definitely don't have my finger on the pulse. I wish I was in close contact with someone who goes because I find the question so interesting that I would give them a call right now and ask. But that is not the case.

When you talk about a code, you are talking about perceptions and reactions which may be sensible, or they may be full of ignorance and hypocrisy. A code is a different thing from a law. I am unqualified to talk about NA codes.

So that's the bottom line. My opinion is it's okay but how it actually flies on vaudeville ---> :dunno:
