I'm not sure if you ever saw the Kristen Bell sloth video, but that's me. If I'm not in a constant state of calm, I'm crying. Usually, I can handle it better.

Long story short: Meeting at work and I just vented all of my frustrations, which led to me crying. Rewind to a few days ago and I haven't received my deposit back from my apartment. I emailed and called the former landlady. She couldn't recall the amount of my deposit. Fast forward to today and, when I asked why she was keeping $300 of it, she told me that it was for "cleaning." I asked about the regulation for that. This caused her to leave a NASTY voicemail attacking my character and my integrity. I was fine until I replayed it to make sure that I heard her correctly.

I just replayed the message.

I gave 30 days notice to move out. She told me that she would prefer that I was out on the first of the month (which gave me 9 days to move out). This woman doesn't know me other than the person that pays the rent and complains about the fridge not working and the window being broken. The week before I moved out, I had a maid service come in and clean. I haven't lived there in several months. I offered her a voucher for someone to come in and clean to use on the apartment or wherever because I was moving out of the service area. She stated that, by offering that voucher, I was acknowledging that I knew the apartment was messy. Today was the first time that I had heard this...30 days after I moved out.

She stated that I need to "take responsibility for once in my life" and that there was cat vomit on the floor. I would love to know where - as I said, the maid service was in there to clean and my cat hadn't lived there in months. I should post the voicemail.

If I were you lady, I would get proof of the maid service gathered, it doesn't matter if it was messy or not before they came. I would see if you can find any proof of the broken window and fridge. If need be, take civil action against her. She sounds like a real scumlord.
I wouldn't waste any time on her thoughts on you, sounds like she is simply trying to justify her wrong doing.

As my dearest calmer half, trying to help from Afghanistan said, "She's a bully and she's just trying to hurt you."

It's one thing to list the repairs/cleaning. It's another to personally attack a person that just asked, "Why is money not being returned?"

He wasn't here when I moved. Convenient :dude:

WTF is up with you and uniforms?
