Random thoughts

Imagine all the different coffee mugs that are used for all that coffee.

and disposable cups, ect.

I like old fashioned working man thermoses

Jazz apple. I don't think I have heard of that. They have quite a few varieties of apple where I grocery shop but I haven't noticed that one. Maybe I have overlooked it? I'll keep an eye out, as they say.

Sounds like quite a swingin' apple.

Honeycrisp is an expensive apple as apples go. I think I bought 3 last time I was there and they were like 5 dollars.

No that can't be right. 3 bananas are like 60 cents, aren't they? How could 3 apples be 5 dollars?

I don't know how much things cost.

So I hiked over to the grocery store today and, with Teela on my mind, looked for Jazz apples.

They had them!

But lo - they were yellow and the little sign said something about them having a pear-like taste. I was shocked and thrown off kilter. My experiences with yellow/golden apples have not been good - and I am not a fan of pears.

I didn't even buy one. That's how discombobulated I was. Like I could/should have at least bought one. I'm sitting here now thinking, "Jayzuz bye, why didn't you at least buy one? What's the worst thing that could happen? The Random Thoughts thread needs this."

But that's how unhinged I was by the strange yellow apples.

Next time.

Even stranger: I just did a google image search for Jazz apples and none of them are yellow. They are just a regular Macintosh looking apple. Now I don't know what to think. Maybe the signs at the store were not properly aligned? And it only mistakenly appeared that the Jazz apple sign referred to those yellow apples?

I don't know. The bit about the pear-like taste was definitely on the Jazz apple sign.

I just don't know. This ain't over.

Jazz apples are a cross between a Braeburn and a Gala. I prefer them to Fiji or Gala apples - they have a better texture and are crisper than most apples. I'm not sure about the pear taste - they have a very sweet, but not overly sweet taste (like a Pink Lady which is a mild sweet taste).

No, no, google has it right. It's the sign at the store that was indicating yellow apples.

Yellow apples - I dunno. I used to work on a fruit farm - very first job I ever had as a matter of fact - started at $2.15 per hour.

There was a lot of great stuff there but here's what I didn't care for: golden delicious apples. All yellow 'n shit.
