That was odd.
I had set aside my million pound winter coat because last time I tried it on the zipper wouldn't work. Just couldn't get it to zip up. So I set the coat on the couch with the plan of taking it to the dry cleaners across the street who also do stuff like repairing zippers.
As it happens, the zipper failure coincided with the change in the weather so there was no immediate need for the million pound coat. So it just sat there on the couch for a couple of months. That's me for you.
Anyway, for whatever reason, it rose to the top of my to-do list today. But just for the hell of it, rather than taking it straight across the road, I put it on and tried the zipper. I'll be damned if the zipper didn't work. I don't know what was going on before but there was no problem with the zipper at all. Up, down, up, down - perfect.
So that saved me a small expense and inconvenience. Only problem was I ended up lying on the ground yelling for help until the authorities could be alerted and come free me with an industrial crane.
That coat has got some weight to it, I tell you what.
