what's your point? how the fuck do you measure 1.345 cups? or pints or whatever else you wanna use.

You obviously never cooked with measuring cups here in the US. So lets say you had a recipe requiring 1345 mL of a liquid. You would need a 1000 mL container, a 300 mL container, a 40 mL container and a 5 mL container. And God forbid the next recipe requires 1646 mL you got to back to the store for more measuring cups. :missingteeth:

It's safe to assume that if we didn't use the British(?) measuring system, we wouldn't have measuring devices, recipes based on that system. You have to expand your imagination a little to see this, but there's no other way.

I think the British system came first. It was invented before the industrial age and was good for the time it was invented. People needed something to measure easily because 99% of the population was uneducated. So as long as you can count to 4 you could figure out what a pint, quart and a gallon is. I can't see how metric would have worked if it was invented in the middle ages before the invention of calculators and computers.

Just did my taxes. Filed online.

Pretty straight forward process in my situation. I am getting a refund of ~ 2K. That probably sounds nice - and I suppose it is - but it is an indication of how little income I had last year so that is not so nice.

Anyway, good to have that shit taken care of.
