I don't know why you guys are saying don't contact her. It comes across as some kind of high schoolish, perceived upper-hand thinking with no value. I am direct and honest and there is nothing to lose.

Like if I'm going for a job, after the interview I might just contact the interviewer again a day later to reassert in a friendly or even funny way my interest and enthusiasm for the position. Why not? Would there be more coolness in waiting to see if they come to me?

It's been a long time since I was in high school.

I am 99% sure I am going to be offered a new job tomorrow by the way. It will be a very big raise.

congrats on the new job!!!

yeah, we didn't have all the info. Didn't know you had already put it out there with this girl. I think your speculations seem pretty spot on. its sucky if it does boil down in part to the father/warehouse worker bf part.... but I mean that is her f-up up baggage reality in her mind, and its not uncommon.

gotta just keep on trucking

I don't see any reason not to contact her, whatever she may say you can take it. Why not just ask her what the problem was that you could have such different interpretations?

Women are very fickle. This appears to be true. I will keep this under advisement:up: But you figure if they using website they should be more desperate than fickle :dunno:

New job in the same place or different company?

Different company. The place I have been working pissed me off a little while back. I don't know if I talked about it here. Anyway it motivated me to keep selectively applying for jobs. This job came up with some good money - I got an interview - I went for it - I gave them the full-court press - dazzled them.

I had a voicemail when I got home yesterday to call them after 8:30 this morning. I feel pretty sure from the tone of that voicemail that I will be getting the offer.

So I was driving back from the airport today, and I can barely keep my eyes open, so I pull into this rest stop. I going to try and sleep for half hour or so, I am not there 30 sec and car pulls up right beside me, what the fuck, theres four cars in the parking lot, and 200 spots, pick another one dude, I need my space.

This guy is probably the same guy who picks the stall next to you when you are shitting, even though theres 10 other stalls.

Fuck people who cramp my space.

 I can feel it in the bones of my moobs.

Update?

Yep, got the offer and accepted.

I informed my current employer and they immediately offered me a raise (but still staying on as a contactor). Their offer wasn't enough. If they actually offered to take me on permanent I would take it and be thrilled pissless - it would be a huge raise on top of the huge raise I'm already getting - but it seems pretty unlikely they will offer the permanent spot. Lots of people there would like to, but there is a whole cockamamie structure to permanent hirings.

I think the new job will be better anyway in terms of the actual work.

I feel like I share a brain with muddy sometimes..

Yeah I disagree too. I'm not sure if I'm missing something in people's reasons for saying don't call her.

Bottom line for me: if you want something, go for it. (Not that I always follow my own advice about that but in such a simple thing as dropping an email to a nice girl, sure, go for it.)
