Fivey, if it makes you feel a bit better, for the past 4 nights I've been making dinner for my son as usual but I refuse to eat it. Instead, I've had a bag of microwave popcorn and 1/4 to 1/2 of a full Pavlova. The Pavlova I make is supposed to feed 10 people a decent sized serving.

Oh and mine has whipped cream smothered all around the base too. I'm repulsive.

Wow. That looks rich too...

I was spoiled with junk food when I was a kid. Now, I rarely care for it. Kind of weird.

Tough world out there. Hopefully I can stay in permanent dream state after falling asleep tonight.

was this just a throwaway comment or are you not okay right now?

Yeah I'm the same. I could go ages without chocolate, sweets, whatever. I'll bake a lot of junk but I normally don't eat it. That's why I have no clue why I keep hoovering that in. The base is hardened meringue, so it's literally just a massive sugar hit. The only good thing about it is the fruit. Something's obviously off with my body chemistry or whatever because this is very abnormal for me.

They call Real Madrid Los Merengue cause of the white uniform.

Wow, maybe I'll have to make them my team. I used to love lemon meringue pie back home but never like this. I'm addicted to this stuff this week. Normally we have it at Xmas or Australia Day because it's a good summer dessert but I'm going overboard. I have half of one left from last night and I keep trying to avoid the kitchen so I'm not tempted.

Oksana what do you make for your son to eat. I need some ideas.

I almost asked you the same thing the other day :lmao:

He's in a phase where he'll only eat finger foods so it's a bit tough. I make a lot of pasta and hide veggies in it. Or steam vegetables, let them cool and then he dips them into whatever I give him. Mini meatballs, tiny pancakes usually with some fruit hidden in them, toast soldiers with mashed avocado or peanut butter, those spirally sandwiches you find at funerals usually with peanut butter and banana, sweet potato fries, california rolls and fish cut into triangles and rolled in bread crumbs and then baked. Oh and Boingers quesadilla idea has been working out well too.

That's the extent of it in this house at the moment but I'm seriously out of ideas. What have you been making?

Had brunch next to a 1yo baby last weekend and her mom simply dumped a bunch of peas and assorted veggies right on the table.

Waitress - Do you need a plate for this?
Mom - Nah, that would just be asking for trouble.

lol?

Baby later faked throwing a pea my way and she cracked up when I raised my hand to catch it.

Little bastard.

Ive made nothing but soups, because thats what she normall eats. I dont want to keep doing that which is why i asked

If I tried to give him soup, one of us would be soaked. The only time he'll eat off of a spoon lately and not try to use it as a launching pad is if I've rolled spaghetti up around it. Will she eat finger foods? It's a bit messy but apparently it's good for their hand eye coordination and to develop their independence. :dunno:

I took emily to lunch at a restaurant the other day. She threw a small cup of water at me.

Fuck yeah.

I will have a kid to teach them what not to do in life. Isn't that the point of having a kid? Someone who has experienced nothing but rainbows and butterflies in life has nothing to offer a child. Chances are that at some point this kid will be disappointed with life and I know I can properly prepare them for the inevitable. Also going to teach my kid to read a racing form. It is a valuable skill to have in life.
