Man I dunno what to tell you about rent. I have lived in this apartment for ~12 years and I just keep paying my rent. I don't know how it compares to anything else.

I just wrote my rent cheque a few minutes ago actually. The rent itself is ~$960 and I pay a bit extra for underground parking. It's a one bedroom.

Jenny has a 1 bedroom half a mile from here and her rent is a bit more. A tad over 1000 I believe. But she is that much closer to the train station so that makes a difference I imagine.



There are a lot of fancy shmancy condos going up in the middle of town right now. Expensive from what I hear. Yuppies will pay a premium for being so close to the lake I guess. I don't know if that will have a ripple effect on all-around rent levels. But again, I think the proximity to the train station is a big thing and I am far away from that.
