Random thoughts

Muddy I think the fact that what you wanted so desperately kept changing in your dreams was you subconscious telling you to be careful what you wish for. What we think we want isn't really always in our best interest.

Muddy our subconscious is way powerful and we would probably all be better off if we plugged in more often and listened to what it tells us.

I always thought lucid dreaming was a farce when in college some crazy hippy got us all high and had us watch Waking Life. But I just looked it up and sure enough science says it is the real deal. Neat.

Lucid dreaming is pretty great. Not just for sex. You can fly. You can breath underwater and check stuff out. The experience can be very beautiful and artistic.

The only problem is I could only ever do it when I was taking a lot of downers and getting extreme amounts of sleep. I would start lucid dreaming between the 12 and 16 hour marks (or thereabouts).

It would be easy to get lost in the lucid dreaming and I did at times but at some point you've got to live.

flying sex is great

okay I fly alot in my dreams but i've never had flying sex.

what is funny is that the most common dream I can recall is slam dunking 720's and 360's in games

I never slammed dunked in a real game in my prime. I did have a few iffy dunks in pick up games on real rims. but those never counted in my heart.

but with fresh, and limber legs when I was 22 i could do some sick dunks. I spent hrs each week working on my calves and squats since the time I was in 6the grade, and I've always been proud of my leaping ability...

since then i'm about 80 lbs overweight and still too short.....

I'm not sure I could touch the net anymore. so these dreams make sense to me now

My mathematical instincts tell me this is quite funny.

If I was ever on Wipeout and was facing the first obstacle course, I wouldn't even try to get through the obstacles. It is such a -ev proposition. So many people waste so much time on shit that, like, 1 out of 20 people actually get through. They waste time and end up in the drink anyway.

Just wipeout into the water ASAP and move on to the next thing. :light:

There is a Canadian version of Wipeout. The girl doing Jill's part, Jessica Phillips, is intriguing. I don't get the feeling she spends her spare time chairing a lot of Mensa meetings but she is fun. Very attractive. I would almost go so far as to use the word exquisite.

Yes we did watch entire first season of Treme. We were a little bit biased because we both love N.O. so much.

But as far as HBO shows go, it was lacking a bit. In a strange twist of fate, almost all of the central white characters annoyed the piss out of me. Steve Zahn was unbearable. John Goodman made me feel nauseous. The street entertainer couple got under my skin. But the brown browns represented with some strong character representation that for me, kept the show afloat.

There are a couple of scenes that were amazing, one of which involved a funeral. Brought that unmistakable New Orleans flair to impressive levels.

Definitely worth giving it a spin.

I am about 7 episodes into season 1. I am finding it frustrating. I want to love it so much but they make it hard.

I mostly agree with your assessments of the characters. I don't mind John Goodman but I dislike Khandi Alexander. She has always creeped me out going back to Newsradio.

Without getting into a major essay, I really just think it needs to focus on plot more. They get some stuff going and then they kill the momentum. Over and over.

If I use the measuring stick of how anxious am I to get to the next episode?, it is not measuring up very well. Sometimes it feels like a chore. There are some pretty mediocre series I have watched on DVD that I cruised through more eagerly. I can see the artistic merit of it but I dunno.

It was so slow developing. It's getting better. I am at the point where I feel sure I will watch to the end of season 1. Whether or not I will watch season 2 is up in the air.

I had to lookup Khandi Alexander. Yea her. She's a bit over the top. Loved when she fucked Chris Rock in CB4 though. Like, SHE fucked HIM. It was great.

Can you even cope with Zahn? He kills the show quite a bit for me. And yea, I was never too excited for the next episode, but it was a good way to waste an hour on a Sunday after losing all my NFL money. The last episode is pretty good though. Lots of storylines come together so make it til then.

On another note, to speak of a show that I can't fucking WAIT til the next episode...began watching season two of Breaking Bad. My god this show is amazing. The episode with drug lord Tuco and his comatose father in a wheelchair with a bell attached to it was one of the most intense, funny and clever episodes of anything I've ever seen.

And while the show keeps you entertained and intrigued with all the wackiness that the main guys get themselves into, I love that it is just as much a show about getting sick and enduring a terminal disease. Some really powerful moments already. Bryan Cranston deserves any and all recognition he has received.

What a show.
