He just called in sick. My brother. Not feeling well so he's not coming to Easter dinner.

How unfortunate.

(and let me just quietly add:)

So in Walmart line the other night, worst case scenario as far as the scene - only two cashiers one new one VERY slow like to the point where both lines were twenty people deep. I'm getting full blast <clears throat> talk in my ear and ready to blow. Turns out Sling TV actually runs smooth on the cell and was a lifesaver. It still times out a lot on the laptop which I don't get but man that went well. For twenty bones a month I'm good. Archie's mom was there and came on to me but I told her I'm not ready for anything serious yet - that's a fuckin bitch I ain't fuckin w it's full on or nothin at all.

When did douchebag insult became popular? I thought it was new millennial types stuff but they just mentioned it twice on better call saul which is suppose to be 2002. Or has it always been popular? I never heard it until I got to America.

it's fairly new to my awareness ...no more than ten years. Unlike most newer popculture stylings I like that one. (didn't at 1st). I find it to be very useful. More dochebags now so there's a good reason for it too.

I started to appreciate when it was involved in a presidential race with a turd sandwich. :hmm: that may have been more than 10 years.

Coaching a game 2 months ago.

Parent from other team gets thrown out.

After the game i am collecting money from the door which was the job of one of the black parents but they don't like to do their fair share.had 0 problems with any of the 6 white parents and nothing but problems with the 2 black ones(just a cawinky dink i guess)

Anyhow the ref tells me about the conversation as he had with the parent as he was leaving.

Parent called the ref a douchebag. He was laughing and said he hadn't heard that term in 20 years.

I told him it was a great word and I liked to get it in 4-5 Times a week. Then I said start this game you douchebag I want to go home.

We laughed...

I always find it a little hard to understand how a woman can want to have sex with a man - just on principle. Men are disgusting that way to me. The idea of even kissing a man makes me wretch a little, nevermind getting hot and heavy.

But I have an intellectual understanding of nature so ---> okay. I do not automatically disrespect a woman just because she is heterosexual. Not at all.

There are however some men ----> I can never quite look their woman right in the eye. Like, how could you? Being with a normal man is one thing - but him???

My god.

Today, I went to the memorial service of my second cousin (or is it 1st cousin, once removed? who knows). She was only 39 years old. No health problems, no drug history. She was visiting her parents with her 2 year old daughter, went upstairs to get ready to go out to eat and basically dropped dead. Her mother went to see why she was taking so long and found her. They are thinking aneurysm. But I digress...

At her memorial service (she was cremated) her brother stood up and said that people clap and cheer for reasons that in the aspect of life mean nothing. So he wanted the crowd to join him in applauding his sister's life. She got a lot of living in those short years. It was a standing ovation, along with the hoots and cheers. And I found that it to be most touching. Ya know, I can't think of a better send off than a standing ovation, telling that person "You lived well!! Good job!!"

Just my rambling thoughts here.

Wow. Sorry to hear Nina, but that is very cool. I like the idea of more uplifting memorial services. We are in the process of planning mom's...for when the time comes...my less than traditional ideas are getting shot down-but for mine, there will be applause dammit.
