Random thoughts

Today was the first day in a long time that I got an unexpected bonus from one of my clients. Not something that I had to negotiate, manipulate, hint, nor suggest...

I looked in one of my accounts and the numbers did not match. It was higher...I tracked it down and contacted company "T". The rep said that they knew about it and wanted me to find out on my own how much they appreciate me. Not even an email to toot their own horn. They took the chance that I would see it and take the time to thank them. I am beyond flattered by this.

They are now at the top of the food chain. I gave them a week free which was more than the bonus...

I pray each night for them to do well so I can get more business from them and transition from other ventures...

That's awesome Valorem! It's great to be recognized/appreciated. Kudos!

HO-LEE SHIT!!

Started up my recording stuff today and found I was getting an inexplicable delay. I'd say something (or play a note or whatever) and I wouldn't hear it for a half second or whatever.

I know I can't call the tech guy until Monday - and even then it's iffy you're going to get him - and I have huge plans for this weekend.

FUUUUCK!

I had no idea what was going on. I hadn't changed a thing since the last time I used it. I am a tech boob and I know it.

Well long story short, guess what? I figured it out on my own and it works now. I did some smart searches and fiddled with stuff in a smart way, and my weekend is back on.

Maybe I need to stop telling myself I am a tech boob. No matter how much truth there is to it, that kind of inner monologue can't help.

Whatever - I'm back on!

Well sir, after running a number of tests and determining that the issue was not just with the specific file or track - because I've had that before - but no, the latency was everywhere - so I concluded it was a larger program or hardware issue.

I fiddled with buttons and connections on my audio interface. To no avail.

I then eyeballed various wires wearing an expression of great skepticism. That also didn't correct anything.

So I searched through various pages (for lack of a better term) within the program. I found one that seemed to be more about the overall program rather than the specific file/track I was looking at. There was a heading for Audio Settings which had a bunch of sub-categories about connections and formats.

Basically I switched my Audio Connection. It was on ASIO DirectX Full Duplex Driver, and I tried other options until the problem went away. Exact setting I am on now: Yamaha Steinberg USB ASIO.

:dunno:

I sure as hell didn't touch that thing since last night but whatever, it is working now.

Meanwhile, gotta switch to extreme reassurance mode. Jenny has had her hair cut short this week - which can be a big honking deal for womenfolk - Jenny is no exception - and she is coming over for a barbecue this evening.

Must remember not to scream at the top of my lungs on first viewing.

1)Scarlett O'Hara

2) Damn I love that creepy L. Armstrong. That's really something. The dying battery is what really makes it.

3) Jenny looks great. Absolutely GREAT. There was no need to tell comforting lies. No need for adjustment time to get used to it. She came up with a nice, somewhat elegant style that makes her face more the focal point. She has an all-time great face.

The style was even my idea. Sort of. I said to check out pics of Carey Mulligan when her hair is short, blonde - and one of those was what she used for a model. Lookit me, coming up with ideas 'n shit.

She is still somewhat flustered about the whole thing and will continue with some fuss and bother for awhile, but I am sure she feels more confident about it now after having a dopey horny man gawking at her with a stupid smile on his face for an evening.

Why am I dreaming of Miley Cyrus...dream interpretation wanted..

We got to a concert and our red car is wrecked. You can see palm prints where people pushed and tip the car on its side. Miley heard about it and volunteered to come over our house.

She would not leave and our house was getting ravaged by the frequent parties/concerts she was having. Tried call the police...anthrax scare...nothing would get her to budge.

Odd night
