Random thoughts

I am good with the shootout in the NHL regular season. I would sit and watch a shootout before I would watch an equivalent time of regular NHL hockey.

The price Muddy. $7 vs $25 for 4 blades. Name-brand blades seem awfully expensive, until you try the garbage stuff.

Now I look at my Shick Quattro blades like they're precision-cut jewels of immense value.

I guess that's me. The money for something like that just doesn't enter my thinking.

That's the other thing: I buy razors so seldom that the expense is incidental. One of those Mach 3 cartridges lasts me forever. But I recall from that thread that rake started awhile back that some (most) people here have much more fancified ideas about shaving than me.

I had what felt like the longest dream of my life last night. I was actually significantly disturbed as I regained consciousness and I felt like I has been trapped in an anxiety dream for hours.

The dream itself wasn't especially interesting. I was trying to get to my hockey game on the motorcycle, and a neverending series of mishaps kept me from getting there.

What was really striking was the sense of how much time had passed. I've never had that feeling.

what you mean how much time passed? I often have dream of being at the rink but missing game because I cant seem to start putting on gear :dunno:

I mean that I had every feeling as I woke up that the dream had been going on for at least 2 hours. Also, I could remember A LOT of different things that happened. I'm sure they wouldn't all add up to any two hours, but that's what it felt like. Never even came close to getting to the game. Part of it was your fault. I was pissed.

Are you watching Avalanche game? Sounds like Mcnabb has a sore throat, still cant get him to shut up.

Yup. I hadn't noticed. Wow, a goal from the neutral zone on Varlamov.

That is interesting..prompted me to look further.

Good links.

The whole perception of time thing is interesting. I remember a study looking into the whole concept of time slowing down during super-intense life or death events. They found that, as it's happening, time doesn't seem to slow down. It's in the remembering that time seems to have slowed. During moments of high intensity, the brain "records" more information, so in recalling the events there is so much detail it feels as if you experienced it in slow motion.

Or something like that.

I find the topic very interesting for a number of reasons that I'm too exhausted from getting my ass kicked in WWF to spell out tonight. But I will.

apparently playing hockey is as stressful as going to school. Or maybe we were wrong about the meaning of the school dreams.

And I'm curious to hear how it was my fault.

It was well into the saga that I ran into you in this crowded mall. This is after a whole aborted attempt to get to the game which involved, among other things, my bike falling to pieces (which turned out to not be my bike, in the dream's only bright spot), the road turning into deep sand, and my complete inability to find the right road.

So, I asked if I could just follow you, and you said yes. The mall was super crowded and I couldn't keep up with you. I stopped and started yelling for you and you just kept going and got lost in the crowd. Never came back for me, ya jerk.

Way to beat the system #11570:

Got to store high end people will be at Black Friday, maybe a Best Buy. Buy nothing. Purposely get in the way of wealthy people at the exact moment they are going to get items, have friend film you being knocked to the ground.
