if you watch some videos about the so called "farm raised chinese tilapia" , you will never buy that shit from there again...

I'll check it out Ray. I'm not even sure where the fish we buy comes from....might have to look into that. We don't eat it very often. maybe once or twice a month.

basically, there are river areas where all the sewage and shit run off...they fence off an area and raise fish in the river and call it farm raised... its fucking disgusting

I knew we have a couple fish hatcheries around central PA and they stink.

I think Mike Rowe did a piece on it on the Dirty Jobs show. They fed the tilapia the left over waste from sewage treatment plants in California.

They do that in California, but with a sewage treatment plant. Here in NS, we use the great Atlantic ocean to farm our fish.

I avoid tilapia and farm raised salmon. not always confident in the labeling though. Or asking at a restaurant, might as well take a wild guess.
