It's ashamed Tron, but age might be catching up to him like Del Piero! Has another nagging injury that will keep him out for awhile! His position running end-to-end all match doesn't help! Difficult for soccer players to last past their mid 30s!

He probably won't want to drag on as a 45 minute max guy but sure hope he stays on until after the Euros! Having him in there just for set piece free kicks is worth it's wait in gold!

Okay. After hearing an interview with Dave Nonis this afternoon, I am definitely not giving him credit for anything in the same ballpark as smartness.

First of all, when the notion that the Nathan Horton contract could have some value to the Leafs going forward, his reaction pretty clearly indicated it had never crossed his mind before that moment.

So why did he make the move? He referred to clearing cap space. And when the question of why they would be at the cap during a rebuild was brought up, he again seemed like that had never occurred to him.

He made a weaksauce afterthought about helping out David Clarkson as a human being.

My best interpretation - he was aiming to please the simpletons. He knew a lot of people were now hard-wired to think about dumping contacts and cap space - and this did both. Even though it actually did nothing.

That last bit was my words, not his.
