What assets do the Leafs have to build around? Does Patrick Sharp (who Chicago is shopping hard) make them better? The goal is to win the cup, not just make them a playoff team.

I have no idea. Everybody can't win the foken cup. As a fan I wanna see the game on the ice. I don't expect a winner to be created in the front office.
Fok those guys they are useless. The more trades they make the harder it is for a fan to get behind a team, and i doubt that their success rate can outperform a coin flipping monkey. How did these pricks manage to make the game about them and not the action on the ice? unreal

The salary cap lends itself to players bouncing around more than trades, I understand the point though.

Received an email from my brother the Habs fan about how good things are looking right now.

Can't disagree in principle - but it's the NHL. If they ended up #1 seed in the east, then lost in the first round of the playoffs, then the final was between frikkin Vancouver and Washington, it would not surprise me.

It's the NHL.

Ovie's soft and the Blues underwhelm every year, hmmmmm.

Its his year, and the blues can't underwhelm forever. ...Of course if the Kings sneak in they'll probably destroy everybody as usual

Stanley Cup playoffs are a helluva thing. And the hell starts right from the start.

Heard someone ask Bruce Boudreau who he would prefer to meet in the first round.

Said he would prefer a bye.

I get a kick out of that guy
