Someone in the world of sports just said something outrageously stupid - so much so that it really just seems like a cry for attention. Like, for gawd sake, please talk about me. Bad attention is better than no attention. Here I am! Notice me!

It would be a completely acceptable thing to post in this spot but I'm not doing it. While I'm sure everyone would agree with me how stupid it is - and it might even generate a few comical ripostes - I'm not doing it.

Often I would post something like that - and I almost surely will again.

But not this time. Fuck the rockhead that said it. Not this time.

The pendulum has swung for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Leading up to the firing of Randy Carlyle - the endless hysteria was about how they gave up way too many shots and counted on stand-on-his-head goaltending too much.

Now they've switched coaches and a new defensive consciousness has been instilled. Shots against have been down.

And they scored exactly 1 goal in their 0-3 swing thru California.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH. What are we doing?!?! We were in a playoff spot when we fired Carlyle!!!! We were leading the league in goals scored!!! That's not easy to do!!! That was our main strength!!!

Why are we playing this way ?!?!?!

They had to get rid of Carlisle when they had the chance. If the team got hot again, they would not be in a position to fire him. I think his days were numbered to begin with at the outset of the season.

I think Carlisle is fine but it's a bad collection of players that will not be able to perform no matter what system you try to put them in.

Therefore they need to rehire Brian Burke. And then fire him again.

I think there is going to be another big shakeup and next season the Leafs will look a LOT different than they do now. (Could even be by the trade deadline.)
