No such luck finding a place that donates a significant portion to a good cause for no reason other then a tax break. What about just not giving your money to a bad cause?

no, I don't expect or want anybody to donate.
I would love to support the small, independent business if I felt a real sense of community and people supporting each other. I would happily pay extra. But it feels that everybody's out for themselves anyway and that sense of community is long gone.

I mean, we support an evil economic system and then wonder why mom and pop are getting foked in the ass, is my point. :dunno:

You gotta give boner credit, he's a cold hearted mothofoker, but he's consistent with his (not very enlightened)views. :bag:

Look up the economic concept of utility. You don't understand why a retailer should be responsible for making the customer as happy as possible? In fact I think that weight should fall entirely on his shoulders.

Also, the view that Wal-Mart messes up the economy is stubborn and antiquated, it likely makes the macro economy more efficient. It may disrupt a local (and less efficient) economy. But, there is nothing beneficial to the economy to buying from a guy who is charging you more just because he's your neighbor. In fact, that's just setting up an artificial economic benefit. Until this person can provide you with some benefit (a product, service or even just a warm feeling - which I believe you feel and weigh more than most) he's just supporting a less efficient artificial system.

Would you claim that buying goods/food directly from the manufacturer/farmer was (I think you're implying negatively) disrupting our economy at multiple levels?

And Walmart makes you happy? Lol.

I don't think I am the type to credit consistently cold hearted.. If that were the case Mudcat would be my number 1 GL poster.

I have heard people saying they can't envision any of the favorites losing but I can actually envision all of them (except Seattle) losing.

I would not be blown away by a Balt win at all. Nor Dallas nor Indy.

I would definitely bet against a favorite sweep.

Got a good illustration of the current dumbed down state of humanity through a radio commercial for a sports talk show this morning. Starts with a typical deep/melodic radio voice saying

There are no gray areas. Everything is black and white . . .

Which might as well have been saying, "Mudcat, you will find these people to be pointless simpletons and you won't enjoy their show. Go away."

However I guess for a ton of people that is just the ticket.

Actually I have heard the show many times and the guys aren't as stupid as that. They are annoying but they are aware of some nuance in the world. But I guess you can't let prospective human listeners know that when you are casting your net.
