Matty that is the technical definition of average in the nhl. A team with Datsyk and Zetterburg should not be average.

the bitches should've won in 5. that blowing of game 4 was awful. Lightning are lousy, I think Montreal kills them. I'm gonna make a fortune in the 2nd round:pope:

Coupla goals away from being top 8 in the league.

Losing a game 7 on the road as a big underdog is nothing to be ashamed off. Red Wings missed too many chances to score and it wasn't because of the Tampa goalie. They either shot on his chest or missed the goal completely.

They weren't really that big an underdog last night IMO. The home teams has dominated game 7's for a long time. It's hard to find a fav in game 7 under the 130-150 range.

I wouldn't at all call the lightning lousy. Stamkos was cold. Stone cold. I do think Babcock is an overrated coach. The teams he has won with were STACKED!!!

Are the Lightening fans for real or just bandwagon people? Like to know their attendance numbers? Cause if they just show up for the playoffs might have to root for the Canadiens! :dunno:

I wonder how many fans are actually American born fans. Me tinks a good chunk of their fans in attendance are actually a bunch of Canadian snowbirds.

Not exactly a playoff story but I'm just going to put this here:

Senators owner Eugene Melnyk in 'urgent need' of liver transplant

It is find one fast or die. No mistake.

From a statement released yesterday:

Today, the club wishes to share with the hockey community and our fans that Mr. Melnyk has been sick and battling major health issues since mid-January. Since then, his medical care and treatment have been the sole focus for him and his family.

Mr. Melnyk was admitted to hospital three weeks ago as a result of the onset of liver-related complications. He has undergone a comprehensive medical assessment and it has been determined that Mr. Melnyk is in urgent need of a liver transplant.

Finding a donor for an organ isn't as simple as finding a blood donor. The criteria for a match has to be as near perfect as possible in order to reduce possible future complications, such as organ rejection.

Mr. Melnyks family has actively reached out to his close friends and broader family with the hope of identifying someone who could be a live liver donor. This process involves the removal of a portion of the living donors liver so it can be transplanted into the recipient patient.

The Melnyk familys efforts have yielded a number of potential donor candidates who have been extensively tested. These efforts continue in earnest but have so far not yielded a suitable donor.

The Senators organization and the Melnyk family are looking for any members of the public who may be interested in being a live liver donor.

A few thoughts on that.

Has he been a drinker? He's got the face of someone who has done a lot of drinking. Not judging - I'm an alcoholic. Just curious.

I have heard him interviewed quite a few times. Seems to be very friendly with the host of the radio show I listen to on my drive home so he turns up every month or two. ---> He's a good interview. He's got stuff to say. In fact he has been fined more than once for stuff he has said on that show. But he just keeps going.

Obviously he is rich. I wonder if that can play into things now. I think I would do the donation for a million bucks.

:dunno:

Maybe I'm toadally outta line saying he looks like a drinker. Like he's not sporting the super obvious bulbous nose and exploding veins look.

Maybe it's just me seeing what I'm looking for - lord knows I am a horrible person - but something about him sez to me, many drinks have been poured in this face.
