I recently rewatched the movie Walk the Line (2005). Here's my take from it: Johnny Cash had basically no personality except for occasional hints of creepy, self-involved manchild. Other than becoming famous for music, nothing surprising happened in his life. He performed some songs about doing stuff - such as crimes and being in prison - but he never did any of that.

Stranger Things is addictive as fok. It was way past JL's bedtime (he doesn't go to sleep until we do) at the end of episode 3 and the wife and I looked at each other like "I don't wanna stop now."

MrX
Yep. Flying through them. Only the finale to go.

Just finished it. Decent enough.

The 80's theme was cool I guess.

Any specific reasons you guys loved it?

The Night of - slight spoiler alert

I enjoyed the most recent episode and found some of the details inspired and, in some cases, humorous.

I feel like the cat has to have some importance to the outcome. I can't imagine how but they are certainly making it conspicuous, that cat.

Could just be character development for Stone, I guess.

Putting on my critic hat, I found Nas' extreme behavioral transition overly abrupt and jarring.

And that's all I have to say about that.

The scene where the DA wants the coroner to look at a pic of Nas' gashed hand - and he tells her to set it down down there - and she is puzzled WTF he means - and she looks all around and ends up setting it down next to dead-black-guy-on-the-slab's wang ---> that out-LOL'ed anything my comedy shows on the weekend had to offer.

I gave a second viewing to the Coen Brothers version of True Grit.

It was odd. My first viewing left virtually no impression. I was going through life generally, vaguely viewing it as a misfire by the Coens. Bit of a dud.

Well here's the thing I now see: it's excellent. It's a great movie.

Maybe time for a second viewing of Inside Llewyn Davis which left that same sort of shruggy impression the first time. Same with The Ladykillers.
