The Flying Deuces - A Laurel and Hardy movie. They go to Paris and Ollie falls for a girl, he ask her to married him but she says no. Heart broken he plans to suicide at the Seine but gets convince to join the French Foreign Legion instead.

This is 40 - It's become apparent that Judd Apatow fancies himself a proper filmmaker, not just a serial maker of quirky comedies. IMO he should focus on improving his quirk. There are a number of really odd scenes in this 2+ hour dramedy that drags on and on, and quite a few genuinely funny and touching bits.

Not nearly as coherent and poignant as Funny People, but it hits scattered high notes and is worth watching.

BTW both Apatow daughters, who play with their actual Mom in the movie, were surprisingly good. They seem to be destined for a career in comedy.

So what about Broadway? I recall you saying you like some Broadway stuff. How does that fit in?

I go to shows as regularly as possible. I think that once a show or movie hits a lull, I start checking my watch. I also get really uncomfortable sitting still. At work, I'm usually running around all day, which is probably a good thing since I rarely sit still. I have noticed that, when I do sit still, I fall asleep. I remember trying to watch movies with my ex and I would consistently fall asleep (mostly when it wasn't "my kind' of movie). I really need to be doing something all of the time. I really think I might have a touch of ADHD.

Happens to me too from time to time, in the movie theater I mean. The last half of a movie can get uncomfortable, I feel a strong urge to get up and move.

I've never walked out of a movie though. And I've watched some putrid shit.

Django Unchained - Decent entertainment value. Dragged on a bit. Predictable ending. Some laughs at the over-the-topness in the beginning of the film. I don't know if I'd sit through it again. 6 F0cks.

I've fallen alseep during some quality movies with my ex: Dickie Roberts, Child Star and whatever the name of that horrible Larry the Cable Guy movie was.

Eastbound and Down - I don't love it. I bet there are people here who love it but I dunno. I watched the first 2 seasons and I keep watching but it's always teetering on the line. I recently recorded the entire third season and I've looked at the first couple episodes. So many gags that fall flat. I guess something must be working because I intend to keep going but damned if I could put my finger on why.
