Anyone watching Halt and Catch Fire? I watched S01E01 and I'm not sure what to think. Seems a little contrived.

watched it in a week, a year or so ago...
don't remember much but it was decent enough to finish...
the one guy was sexy but ugly at the same time....
its based on the real story of Compaq stealing from IBM so I think you gotta watch it for history sake...and weird sexy guy

I've watched the first 2 seasons. It definitely has that aspect of letting you project yourself into the situation.
Like imagine you were a computer wiz right as things were taking off in every direction.
It's like when Mad Men would set aside the plotlines and have a bit that was just about the advertising of the era, or The Knick would examine the state of medicine around 1900.
Kinda fascinating.
Of course plot and characters are a different thing and Halt and Catch Fire is hit and miss with that. Season 2 was better than season 1 but it's definitely not an all-timer.

Apparently it's a real thing. John Malkovich and Robert Rodriguez have made this movie.
It's set for release Nov. 18, 2115, envisions the Earth in 100 years and stars John Malkovich. It will be showcased in a safe at the Cannes Film Festival but will not be screened, outlets report.
