Just thought of another parallel between GoT and Deadwood.

Main dominant characters that could have lead the entire series, die early in the first season.

Ned Stark and Wild Bill Hickok.

I have been a little underwhelmed with the dragons the last few episodes.

They have been building up dragons as being some huge almost-impossible-to-stop weapon of war.

Now we see that you just need to hit one with 3 or 4 spears ---> out of commision.

They were building dragons up like they were the equivalent of nukes. In fact ---> just kinda like a handful of extra guys.

I liked the idea of having Idris Elba (Stringer Bell) as the next Bond. He's naturally Bondesque.

I'm a solid casual fan of Bond flicks.

Edge of Tomorrow (2014) - As much as it can be picked at a hundred different ways - a pretty entertaining yarn.

Edge of tomorrow. Saw it, remember liking it. Have no recollection of how it ends, weird.

Edge of Tomorrow (2014) - Surprisingly good. Like Groundhog Day with lots of guns, mechs, aliens and a TIGHT Emily Blunt.

Thoroughly enjoyable and surprisinly clear for a time-travel movie.

I'm not sure about that. I'd like to see her be sexy sometime. I've probably seen her in ~8 significant roles by now - and I'm as conscious of sexy scenes and particularly gettin' nekkid as anyone ---> I can't remember her doing sexy.

Have I ever seen her in underwear? Maybe boxers. A bikini? Definitely not nekkid. In Edge of Tomorrow she was wearing a fricking Jungle Jim half the time.

I feel like there were some dancing-in-tights scenes in The Adjustment Bureau that might have been good, but I also remember being unsure if it was even her - i.e. strategic body-doubles.


Not saying there is no potential. Not saying I wouldn't like to see more - definitely not saying that - no, that wouldn't be the sort of thing I would be saying. But I feel like something is being hidden.

Looks okay. My tongue is not dangling out and I wonder what a straight front-on angle would look like - like, do we got hips or wut? -what is the wideness situation? - but okay.

The Good Lie (2014) - I thought this was a great movie that I am surprised I have not heard more about.

I like the style and tone and story. Being about the Lost Boys (and girls) of Sudan, they could have tried to make it huge. They didn't. I felt like they showed just enough of the horror they faced to give needed context - and educational value - and then they proceeded with a nice, moving, simple small story.

Being a movie with a lot of Hollywood names in the production credits, they could have tried to make it LARGE about Reese Witherspoon. Granted, her face is the poster, but in the movie, it is a tasteful and appropriate supporting role.

I like this WAY better than the imdb rating of 7.4. I'm more in line line with the tomatometer rating of 88%.

9 out of 10 for me.
