Better than American detective shows IMO in doing a better job of concealing who the killer is until late in the show. Keeps you guessing!

much better..even law and order uk is better than the american versions..

And Birdman wins the Screen Actors' Guild award for Best Picture, topping Boyhood which has been winning some of the other crap.

All the acting awards went to the same people who were winning everything else (Eddie Redmayne, J.K. Simmons, Patricia Arquette, Julianne Moore) - and they are all BIG favorites to win the Oscar now.

But seems like there is a contest for Best Pic.

I know I'm late to the party, but just started watching the West Wing. Is it really as good as I think it is? Will it stay this good throughout however many seasons there are? I am about 4-5 episodes into season 1. I have a tendency to abandon series about this point, but I am hopefully optimistic about this one.

I was recommended The West Wing by someone who also loved The Wire. I should prolly give it a try.
My brother told me to watch it. The first episode was a little confusing with all the titles of who was who but it easily came into play by end of it and 2nd episode. The writing and cast are amazing. I just googled it and it appears it won Emmys for best drama 4 times. Watch it. Watch it now. I want someone to watch it "with" me. Camicon you watch it too!

I have a limited tolerance for Aaron Sorkin. He's written a few movies that came out well but with TV, history has shown he wears me down pretty fast.
"You can't handle the truth!"

Seriously, I have no idea what else he has done for TV other than the Newsroom. I really enjoy the writing so far...clever rapid fire witty retorts and such.

Yep, some people really like him and do not tire. The Newsroom has gone 3 seasons and I don't think it is stopping due to being cancelled; I think it is his choice.

He did Sports Night and 66 Sunset Strip (or something like that). I think those ones got cancelled. West Wing lasted a long time tho.

Whatever - enjoy, enjoy.

So I guess I am the guy who does not like Interstellar.

The curious thing to me: I read/heard a few reviews from professional critics - who all ended up with very favorable ratings - and they all acknowledged the problems that I saw with it - meandering story, unclear motivations, characters who seem written and do not ring true, plot holes and general ridiculousness - but those critics all concluded with, but it comes together as a joyful wonderful thrillride yada yada . . .

Whereas to me those problems were simply problems.

And I do find Anne Hathaway distractingly bad.

4.4 out of 10.

Some interesting visual moments tho

I feel like Christopher Nolan has it in him to make a movie that I really like. An all-timer. He has shown many very promising elements - he is clearly very intelligent. I bloody hate the Christopher Nolan nerds out there but I think I am capable of setting them aside and judging his work objectively.

But at the moment, he seems to be going backwards. For me. And I realize I am the least of his worries. But I'm just saying.

I liked Memento. The Prestige was brilliant and ingenious (except for that one huge sorry-but-I-can't-ignore-that flaw.)

I liked Batman Begins. The Dark Knight less. The Dark Knight Rises less than that. Inception.

And here we are.
