The next Star Wars movie has a title. You know that's a big honking deal to some peeps.

Is it going to be more garbage CGI? To me there are 3 Star Wars movies. I really tried with the other ones, I did. I mean if Jar Jar Binks wasn't enough for some people to realize that thing was pathetic then I don't know what would be.

I didn't see the most recent 3. I saw the first 3. Can't say I give a crap about them.

It's been ages. I have seen enough parodies that I'm sure I would recognize lots of scenes if I saw them again though, particularly from the first one (which I guess is the 4th one but fuck off with that - it's the first one).

I'm sure stuff would come up and I would be like oh yeah, that's what Robot Chicken was referring to.

Or whatever.

I remember thinking early and often that Harrison Ford is a terrible actor.

We've had the Star Wars debate before

Cats better than dogs yada yada

Darth Maul was a top 3 Star Wars villian for sure. Yes, Jar Jar was awful. Horse beaten to death.

These movies are made for children

We are not the target audience.

Maybe the new film will be better than the 3 prequels?

:dunno:

I don't think I agree with this. While I think it is a high priority to throw stuff in to keep kids engaged, I don't think George Lucas would describe his efforts chiefly as making kids' movies.

Now, maybe someone will come back with a quote where he says exactly that - I'm not super-invested in my position here - but I always felt like the creative people saw themselves as making top-level space-fantasy for the most sophisticated consumers of that.

Action-packed no doubt, but plenty of (attempted) socio-philosophical exploration to go around.

I feel like we actually are the target audience (but we happen to be pain-in-the-butt gamelive types so no dice.)

I had something all typed out but Muddy pretty much said it

I will say if it was purposely conceived to be a kids series of films - not so smart - that is if you want to make great movies

Then again maybe they just wanted big box office #s and another generation of Star Wars fans to hopefully make 3 worse movies in another 25 years

I wasn't as clear as I should have been.

Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jefi target audience: Adults and children

The other 3 films target audience: Teens, children and Star Wars nerds.

If you don't agree with me, I fart in your general direction.

Fell asleep during The Judge.

Expectations were SO much higher. You know who doesn't think Robert Downey Jr. is that great? THIS GUY. Sure blurt out a bunch of overworded dialogue spoonfed to you that puts people in there place. whatever. I thought it kind of sucked.

6.2 bacons

We got to see Duvall shit himself naked, that did happen. Not to spoil but if you watch this you will also get to see Duvall shit himself. Naked. Being held by Downey Jr. at the time.

So there's that.

Bread don't break an ankle running to redbox to rent this now that that has been disclosed.

The new Christopher Nolan 3-hour space epic Interstellar is coming out. Reviews I've seen range from, like, 3 out of 4 to frontrunner for Best Picture.

The 3/4 guys are the ones I have more trust in traditionally.

Still, that's good.

Expecting a full-scale nerd attack on imdb.

Big Hero 6 is also getting good reviews, providing both quality entertainment (so they say) and a ready-made Christmas shopping option for those with kids of a certain age. i.e. - sales of that white inflatable thing expected to skyrocket.

Buy, buy, buy people!
