Just programmed my machine to record about 6 episodes of a show called The Comeback.

It appears to be a half hour HBO sitcom starring Lisa Kudrow.

Odd thing is, if I am understanding what I am seeing here, it came out with season 1 in 2005 and now there is a season 2. This is 2014.



I think the episodes I recorded must have been from the 2005 season? I would guess they are re-airing it in advance of the new season?

It has a respectable rating (although I am not getting my hopes up too high.)

So that's what's going on with that.

My ex saw The Judge last night and loved it. She is positive there will be two Oscars come out of it. She did not specify which two but anyway ---> two.

I have not seen it but based on my interpretation of the buzz when it was released, I would wager she is wrong about those Oscars.

Snowpiercer, good stuff.

Nice, original sci-fi/action/revolution film. I'm a sucker for a post-apocalyptic thriller set entirely on a train.

Scientists accidentally freeze the earth. The only remaining survivors travel perpetually on a train that travels the world without stopping. The lower classes are packed into dismal cars in the back and fed "protein" bars. The upper classes live in the front in amazing decadence. You can kinda guess the gist of the rest of it.

It's well-done, though, and very weird.

I'm not particularly recommending Elysium. It's just that it's a similar set-up - except instead of a segmented train, the privileged upper class lives on an orbiting space station while the riff raff lives on Earth's surface.

And then stuff happens not the least of which is Matt Damon.

It's by the guy that did District 9. I've got it rated 5 out of 10. Probably the thumbs-down side of 5, if memory serves.




I'm thinking that is Tilda Swinton in that picture.

What a freak.

I know something turned me off to watching Elysium. Can't remember what, exactly. I'll probably give it a look, soon.
