watched sea4 ep.1 of Homeland... im not sure why... actually im not sure why they bothered with another season :dunno:

Those two episodes in Sunday night might have been the biggest snoozfest ever. I give them 2 more episodes to prove something or I am out. It really stinks right now. I wish for Claire Daines' character to die every episode. She is the most annoying character on television.
 
Masters of Sex totally threw me off. The season 2 finale was a couple Sundays back and I had no idea.

Usually a finale has some kind of vibe to it. Even if you weren't warned, you could figure it out.

Masters of Sex - I didn't have a clue. I went looking for a new episode last week like normal ---> no dice.

Even knowing now that it was the finale and looking back with an eye towards if I should have picked up on the signs ---> no.
 
Here's a thing.

For decades I have observed discussions of all-time great Oscar injustices and one that comes up repeatedly is Dances With Wolves winning Best Picture over Goodfellas.

I have seen the point made so many times, it had washed over me and I had basically bought it and accepted it as gospel. Power of suggestion I guess.

Well, not just power of suggestion. I like Goodfellas. Probably seen it 3 or 4 times. Entertaining. Got it rated 8 out of 10.

Had not seen Dances with Wolves though since soon after it came out. Dang near 25 years.

Anyway, I finally watched Dances With Wolves again. I have no problem with it winning Best Picture over Goodfellas. I would vote for it.
 
If you missed this guy from G of Ts like us ..... watch the TV show Legends! Ten episode 1st season just ended on TNT but we caught up with it On Demand!

I told you guys about Homeland. It's 24 all over again. It was thrilling for most of Season 1, then it turned into repetitive garbage.

nah, we been over this... although it was built up as the new 24, it was/is nothing like it and the 1st 3 seasons were much better than anything 24 ever put out, imo... but seriously, you cant kill off the main character, the guy the show was all built around, and expect the show to go on successfully...there is no reason to watch it now :dontthinkso:

Legends was good, mr.m i like it too

Peaky Blinders sea.2 has started off with a bang... probably the show i look most forward too right now

I would have a hard time voting one way or the other

I do see Dances With Wolves more as a "Best Picture-Type" of movie

But if I name my top 10-20 movies of all-time I don't think Dances makes the list. Goodfellas yes. I can't disagree though that it's an excellent film. Definitely holds up upon multiple viewings.
 
I am giving Homeland 1 more shot tonight.....if that stinks I am out.

New show on SHowtime they have been hyping up for a couple months too. Called The Affair.

If both stink, probably time to cancel showtime until Masters of Sex and ray Donovan next year.
