Agreed, Muddy.

They've been doing that shit for a while now.

Now I read the summary listed in the notes before clicking play because I can spot a repeat with the best of them.

Intellectual TV show thinking their audiences are fools.

Or maybe the cable companies are to blame.

:dunno:

Maybe 60 Minutes thinks if they put 3 features together that didn't originally air together ---> new episode.

Yeah, I'm gonna need you to go ahead and stop doing that.

Mkay? That would be grayyyt.

The minions don't look Chinese - they basically look like Hostess Twinkies really - but they talk like some kind of Chinese.

Not sure what the deal is supposed to be.

Lovable little guys though - no way around that. Wanna try hating minions? I don't think so.

So I watched my current roster of TV dramas over the last couple days - those being Ray Donovan, Masters of Sex and Halt and Catch Fire - and I was kind of thinking ehhh the whole time - and I think I have put my finger on the problem.

They are not having fun.

Shows need to be having fun. Dramas can (and should) have fun. The Wire had some fun. The Sopranos had fun. Deadwood, Breaking Bad - they remembered to have fun. Dexter the first few seasons when I was really enjoying it --> having fun.

These current three shows - one after the other - all so grave and trying so hard. It's like I can see the whiteness of their knuckles with the tightness they are gripping the script. I half-expect the shows to stop and someone to jump in saying, "See? See the subtext? CAN YOU SEE WHAT WE HAVE DONE?" Yes, I see what you are trying to do. It's really obvious.

Settle down.

The Leftovers continues to hold up, Muddy you might like that one enough to make it worth your while.

I saw the premier and it was too reminiscent of LOST for me. I did not find it bad per se, and do not rule out the possibility of getting back into it at some point - but first I need to let some time pass and have it confirmed by reliable sources that something is actually happening and it is not just another LOST.

I hear Sharknado 2 is coming out tonight. I have missed the Sharknado phenomenon so far. Did not see part 1.

I heard a commercial for the sequel that sounded like a lot of mayhem as I imagine a tornado full of sharks would be. Someone was saying they did not want to get eaten.

Word.

yes Muddy it's not top notch but it's very doable. We never got into Lost.

Duchovny's getting some heat for this right now because it's Russia but this commercial is ata, imo.

wow! thats kind of impressive. Thats not the image of Russia I would expect to find in America. Not only is it positive, but void of the uncoolness(?) they always jam in to anything Russian, like all that ancient, churchy tzarist shit.

 somebody said he looks like my Harlamov avatar. :dunno:
