Wasn't all that impressed with the first episode of Mad Men, but it had some good moments later. Seems like every season (season 1 and 2 are the exceptions) starts out slow though so we will see. Turn wasn't especially good either, but the 3rd episode preview looked pretty good so I'll keep checking it out waiting for my interest in the protagonist to materialize.

Looking back upon Mad Men, I found season 1 to be like a 9.8. My recollection was that season 2 was pretty damn good. Since then it has been just good.

Do I ever see myself rewatching the whole thing start to finish as I have recently - and will again - with The Sopranos, The Wire, Six Feet Under etc? Really hard to see that. It has its moments but it also has its share of non-moments. I dunno. Maybe if some time passed and I started into it, I would find myself unable to stop. Not sure.

It's been a 7 out of 10 show for quite a awhile, even drifting down into the 6's at times. I think I want to love it more than I really do.

Not judging the current season yet. Quite a few things in episode 1 just felt like concepts repeating - and not just for the 2nd time. But wait and see.

I binge watched S1-S5 of Mad Men in about 4 weeks. It was one of the best months of my life.

:chickendance:

I thought E1 of S7 was much better than E1 of S6 (where literally nothing happened for 2 hours).

I think ending it after 7 seasons will be perfect timing.

Totally thought Don was gonna tap Neve Campbell or whatever the heck her name is after they cuddled for a whole flight.

Don is trying to say no to women and booze. The show is definitely repeating itself but I find it as delicious as ever.

Roger Sterling's hilariously dramatic meeting with his daughter, Don using Freddie as a proxy, Joan trying to fake her way into business. All very delicious.

Cami you and bacon dislike the show cause you're both deeply anti-intellectual. You're welcome.

There was a 2-part feature on Pope Francis on 60 Minutes this week. He seems like an interesting guy with a fresh way of looking at things. He is shaking things up that need shaking up.

I feel like he is probably getting just a bit too much credit though. A lot of the stuff which people are orgasmic about is not so much him doing anything great as him looking good compared to his extra-backwards/anal predecessors.

But whatev.

They talked to President Obama about his impressions. Obama looks like he has aged about 25 years since taking office.

side boob from don's gf is the only thing that kept me from shooting myself out of boredom from the premier sunday... i binged a few seasons a few different times the last 6 months... there are entirely too many useless boring ass hours of this show... but the entertaining hours are quality...i dont really hate anyone on the show

so fucking glad GoT killed off who they did... he was going to make the show painful to watch, much like jesse was killing breaking bad in his own little way
