Regarding TD: absolutely nothing paranormal or supernatural. I would be amazed (and disappointed) beyond belief if it went in that direction.

I mean, there are likely to be some fruitloops and psychos with some weird shit going on in their heads, but the narrative itself will remain a straight-up, earth-bound procedural. I believe that in the strongest terms.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you are speculating in that regard.

You're not. I think there's a slight chance that the finale will include some paranormal phenomenon. There's been multiples references to experimental ideas like the eternal return, the M-brane theory and all that.

I really really hope they don't go there.

I'm saying no. He looked kinda raggedy in the neck area - something was going on there - but I don't think he is actually the guy.

The more I think about it, the more I realize how confused I am. There was a lot of stuff thrown around last episode and I'm not sure how well I am following. There was a lot of stuff discussed - machinations involving a whole lot of names we haven't spent a lot of time with. I prolly need to read up before the finale.

Anyway, one witness talked about spaghetti monster, scar guy like he had a glowing neck; seemed like by all accounts, the scarring was really conspicuous and extreme. Lawnmower guy wasn't like that to me.

Plus I'm pretty sure Rust and Marty talked to lawn mower guy in the earlier episode. They should put two and two together, like, hey, that guy I talked to before had a fucked up neck like we keep hearing about. Let's track him down.

I don't know.

I don't think they will go the paranormal rout, and yes, I do think that man on the lawn mower is a possibility.

Thought about it some more and I'm more confident that there won't be paranormal shit in the finale. The multiple references to the looping nature of time could simply be some artsy-fartsy wink to the endless cycle of abuse that goes down in the bayou.

Hard not to overread into things after we got burned by Lost.

You shouldn't be able to grow a bunch of facial hair on badly burned/scarred skin, should you?

I dunno.

I dunno.

The obviousness of any scarring there just isn't in keeping with the way people are describing it. It should be like, "Holy crap, look at that! It shouldn't be like you need some extreme squinting and use of imagination to even contrive a debate.

It shouldn't be at a level where it wouldn't even register with trained detectives (although if it was just Marty who talked to him, maybe he wouldn't have the same attention to detail as Rust. Can't remember what went on there.)

The explanation of the green ears works neatly, gotta say that. Maybe it's the guy and they have just let the writing go a little lax on the details for effect.

Keep in mind these are men that abduct children and young ladies, so the description of him, likely came from a younger kid, which would explain the "spaghetti" face. I could be wrong, but that's my thinking, is that a child or disturbed victim gave the description, so it may not be 100% accurate, but....
