I don't know if anyone on here likes this style of movie, but I watched Byzantium last night, and it was pretty great.

If anyone is in the market for a slowly-paced, moody, beautiful, mother-daughter vampire epic, this is the one you want. Byzantium.

I guess I should also throw in a review for Computer Chess, since it has a major character named Michael Papageorge.

Well, it's weird. Bonus points for sheer weirdness, but the overall experience wasn't very enjoyable. A few great scenes, but a bit too much improvised, uninspiring dialogue and iffy acting. On the other hand, Papageorge. :papageorge:

I used to listen to Howard Stern years ago and I remember a real doll phase. My strongest memory of it was when dudeguy - oh shit what is his name now . . . gotta look it up . . . Fred. Okay Fred took the real doll into the bathroom and fucked it. His main comment when he came out was not about how great it was - but how ridiculous he felt coming out of the bathroom and back to his seat with everyone watching him and knowing what he had just done.

That sounded about right to me.

Reminds me of the old days of having to rent pornos from the back room of the video store, and then make my way to the cashier in a very ashamed way. Of course you'd have to rent some other titles as well, even if you weren't going to watch them. Because you'd be a "real perv" if that's all you went to the video store for.

So not only do we have the Series Premier of True Detective tonight, we got season premiers of Shameless and Girls. Ep. 2 of Downton Abbey season 4. Along with new episodes of my regular stuff (Simpsons, Family Guy, Watchlist, 60 Minutes).

In about 2 weeks we have gone from fuck-all to watch, to having to carefully strategize the programming so I can fit everything in.
