Don't know you feelings but we enjoyed it! Maggie is great, telling her grown son, "when you talk like that, I want to ring the nanny to put you to bed with no supper."

Enjoyed it very much. It's undeniably a soap and I'm not usually a soap guy - but it is done with a certain je-ne-sais-quoi that make it not just tolerable, but compelling and fun.

Not much going on with TV for me right now so glad to have it back.

Dallas Buyers Club (2013) - This is my favorite movie of last year so far. Still some big ones to see but I found this very engaging start to finish.

I don't know what to say about Matthew McConaughey. He used to be a joke. An openly shared joke. I feel sure he'll get a Best Actor nom for this. Can't see why he wouldn't have a decent chance of winning.

For me it was a practically flawless. Not that it was the most perfect story of all time but I found the telling of it completely free of pretense and manipulation. It didn't have those moments like so many movies - even some very good movies - where I am pulled out of it because I'm thinking about a writer writing or an actor acting. I just sat back and bought the whole thing.

Jared Leto is the other topic of buzz as a Supporting Actor. He was good too. It was a total Oscar bait kind of role - cross-dresser dying of AIDS. He did not absolutely stand out for me but solid like the whole movie.

I always have a quibble or two. I did not love Jennifer Garner. A couple other little details.

But I'll say 8.1 out of 10.

To a T the same thing a 2-6 AM sports/entertainment radio host said bout it and him! Cool host on the station for years but LOL to myself, "Academy Award winner MattM, are you kidding me!" Just googled it and not playing in S Jersey at all! One lousy place showing it in Center City Philly! Hope it expands over the river! Thanks Muddy!

He got very good reviews for another movie this year called Mud. Meaning to see it at some point.

He'll have some serious competition for Best Actor this year. A lot of people are saying Chiwetel Ejiofor. (I say no way to that.) People are saying Tom Hanks for his 2 different movies (I say no to both).

I like Christian Bale in American Hustle. I'd have to think hard to choose between him and MM.

Still need to see a bunch of stuff though.

Yes Muddy not him but combined with Woody thought it might have promise! Really want to see DBC now though! MrsM and I rarely go to the movies so sucks not in S Jersey yet! Thinking a Philly CCity movie ticket probably has to be at least $12 plus minimum $15 to park! Plus $5 bridge toll! I can wait!

The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) - T'was entertaining enough, but it didn't bring anything new to the table as far as exploring the depths, or lack thereof, of the sociopathic sales-type mind.

Lots of drugs and boobies, which redeems it somewhat. Lead character's trophy wife is one hot piece of meat.

7.2 Matty Rains out of a possible 10

I didn't think it was about a sociopathic type mind. I considered it more extreme capitalist, exploitative, and hedonistic ideology. Living life to full excess without thinking or caring about the repercussions.

I think psycho and socio are basically synonyms. Someone who feels guilt would not be a -path.

Anyway, I enjoyed the movie just fine, it was just sort of point-less though. Like, here's some partying fueled by shady/criminal activity. Enjoy.
