:woohoo:

You shoulda told me it was on. I could use a little Uncle Buck. We were just talking about it.

Cloud Atlas is another one of these movies that you see once in awhile that has a theme of omygawd behold the magical interconnectedness of things.

I think the early 90's with Robert Altman's Short Cuts was the last time someone made that work to my satisfaction.

Traffic went there. Crash went there (the Paul Haggis one). Babel went there, showing the magical interconnectedness of things over vast distances. There are other examples. I even remember someone trying a TV show based solely around the premise. I think it was called Six Degrees. Stuff that might not have seemed connected on the surface was actually very connected. Ooooh.

Cloud Atlas is now showing wondrous interconnectedness over the vastness of time where the connections are pseudo-spiritual/mystical in nature.

It's amazing how connected things can be when you totally contrive the story.

Pseudo-spiritual/mystical interconnectedness kinda makes me wanna barf.

I got through about 15 minutes.
Great, cant find anything on hbo either. I did watch that documentary about homeless in New York. eh
Tried watching Bill Maher show. He was interviewing Billy Crystal for like 20 minutes. Who can tolerate that? turned it off.
Wanted to see Girls, but apparently thats not currently available. :boo:

Girls is between seasons right now.

It's been awhile. I wouldn't be surprised if a new season comes along fairly soon. But not currently at this time.

Reruns are spotty. Usually when they run them, they run a whole bunch of them, but it is far from a constant thing. I will let you know if I see a rash of them but then I don't even know if my channels relate directly to yours or what.

All is Lost is the next big critical success of the run-up to award season. Getting raves.

A Robert Redford one man show. Who'd'a thunk it at this point?

Personally I have always been a big Redford fan and he was probably that first guy that I really thought had charisma and drew me to the movies - going back to Sundance Kid and The Sting.

Plus I have a great respect for his work as a director - although he did not direct this one.

Anyway, possible Best Actor nom from the sounds of things, along with Chiwetel Ejiofor and Tom Hanks. It would be only his second acting nom - and they would be almost 40 years apart (The Sting). (He did win Best Director for Ordinary People and has another nom in that category).

I look forward to seeing this.
