The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) - This is okay. It is very comparable to the first two Spiderman movies which I thought were reasonable turn-your-brain-off entertainment.

I can't help but ask why this was made so soon after the other franchise but whatever, the movie is decent. The creature was kinda dopey looking but other than that, fine.

Everything is comparable. The story and acting are comparable. The moments of bad CGI are comparable. The actors being clearly way older than their characters is comparable. But it moves along and it's not like I was constantly checking the clock to see when it would end.

6.8 out of 10 I guess. :dunno:

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - Hacker movies are a pretty big turnoff for me typically, but after the main female character (oddly enough - the girl with the dragon tattoo) sat down at her computer with a Coke and a cigarette, I was drawn in. It was like watching my doppelganger (see Casperwaits). Pretty entertaining thriller without the hacking into the Pentagon in four seconds nonsense that typically comes with hacker movies - despite my ability to call out the killer almost immediately after his/her (spoiler sake) introduction. There was plenty of character development and side plots that drove the movie better than solving the crime anyway. 8 F0cks.

Laura (1944) - Turned it off. Doesn't deserve a writeup. 0 F0cks.

Seven Psychopaths - Turned it off then started watching Laura then turned that off and watched the rest of this for whatever reason. With that cast, there had to be something there. Right? Nope. Dognappers? GTFOH. Just a horrendous fucking script. Kudos to whoever passed this crap off to the studio execs and capitalized off of it. Must have been sucking a lot of dick. -47 F0cks.

5 minutes. :dunno: and more decks does not make it much more difficult.

All you got to do is add and subtract 1. There are more complex counts but the benefit is not worth the effort.

Hard to believe it would be worth your time. At least it doesn't sound like a place you're interested in frequenting for anything else.

Counting is just too obvious for the casino, they seem to hate it way more than they should.
I believe 4queens still has one. That is the last good casino downtown which has kept their mildly positive games for decades.

I'd need to be able to count quickly and reliably though. Practicing and all that...

Yeah. It's not a place that I'd frequent normally, but it's also a place that likely has an incompetent floor.

I figured EV on a nickel with a decent count would make it worthwhile. I guess I don't know offhand how often that happens though.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
You are referring to the US version, correct? I liked it a lot, although I was slightly turned off by the inconsistency with the accents. Daniel Craig was playing a Swedish character, but spoke in his usual English accent. I could understand if the director had simply said 'just use your normal voice, don't try to do the Swedish accent', but this was not the case as the American female lead, Rooney Mara, spoke with a Swedish accent (as did everyone else in the film, if I remember correctly). Just seemed weird to me - still a really solid film, however. One bonus for me was that I watched it in the theater (with the massive screen and insanely loud audio that go along with it), and the intro was one of the coolest uses of 3D animation I've seen (and Reznor's music fit perfectly with it). 7.5 Gills. Original Swedish version, 8.5 Gills

Wasn't aware that 4Queens had a 3/2 single deck... That's another place that I wouldn't frequent typically either though. The place I'm referring to is less appealing actually.

Sometimes I get bored and need something to do with my time. Can only play so much VP/slot hunt to kill time.

Yeah. It was the American version. I just kind of took it at face value that Craig's character was English. When he went to London, I thought he was just going home. But I haven't read the book or seen the original movie or anything.

The intro was pretty damn impressive.

Sure, if they let you get away with a nickel bet on every advantage count you'll do well. (swings will be huge)
Its just hard to believe that any casino now a days wouldn't know about counting. They probably are offering it as promotional nostalgia for their old timers. If you beat them for a few k they are likely to boot you.

A single deck with good rules can be + off the top.

I haven't felt that counting fast at a table is much more difficult than counting at home but I'm not much of a perfectionist and probably made mistakes.
Never did much SD. Its a bit harder than a shoe because a held hand game you cant count as the cards come out. But you get used to it quickly.
