Bike 800
Replacement parts at least 1500, of which only about 500 were essential - got an extra windshield, NOS tank, NOS taillight, lower fairing, etc.

Essential parts were

Battery 50
Coils 40
Spark plugs 20
Rear tire 100
Vented gas cap 40
Rear brake line 25

I like tinkering.

Shit's going to break no matter what. I knew I would have to put about 1000 bucks on my FJ when I bought it. Part of my plan was to learn how bikes worked.

Going to pull out the carb rack this winter and take it apart to see what's what.

Prolly nothing major, bike could be fine, just like it could have a dying battery because of low use/neglect, dry/cracked tires because of improper storage, etc.

I mean, you were asking me to choose blindly between that more expensive 2006 and the cheaper 2008 with higher miles. The 2008 is an easy pick.

My bike had 39k kilometers when I bought it, now 42k, which is 26k miles. That's way low for a 28 year old beater.

That looks real nice.

I can't believe how much cheaper it is for you Murkan assholes to put a nice recent bike on the road.

For $3k I can get a "customized", Frankensteined POS, then I still need to pay around $1800 for full insurance coverage: http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-veh...es-2007-Kawasaki-Ninja-650-W0QQAdIdZ542549463
