Been working on my 2nd bike almost every day this week. Yay semi-employment.

$40 eBay speedo/tach unit

Changed the front tire but couldn't get it to pop into place. Tried the ol' starting fluid method that's supposed to make the tire explode into place, with no luck. Almost set the whole thing on fire though.

Yeah I've seen that. It's neat and a little ridiculous. A helmet is for when you crash - you're supposed to discard it after one impact. It would suck to destroy a $1,500 gadget after a light tumble.

It's vaporware until further notice. Skully is basically crowdfunding the thing and they won't release it before next year. Their ETA is May 2015, which means it's likely to be 2016 before it's widely available. If at all.

I don't get why people do these long term pre orders

They want to belong to something. Buying a new toy and opening it is only fun for 5 minutes. Waiting 2 years for it provides a lot more value for your money.

Demo ride on an impossibly sexy Ducati 959 Panigale at 1pm today. No intention on buying it, I just want 30 minutes of fun on a borrowed bike.
