While no confirmed cause of death has been released, the Toronto Police have indicated that it is not being investigated as a criminal matter. Two days after his death, his mother told the media that Hyndman was a sleepwalker, and she believes he fell off the couple's balcony during a sleep walk.

To his credit, that's the first time I've seen a driver of his age who knows how to use his mirrors so well.

Let me know how that sprocket conversion goes. A lot of people favor different sprocket ratios for my vstrom. I almost made the leap, but decided against it. I love it so much as is, I decided not to mess with it.

The deciding factor was not wanting my speedometer to be off.

I just did the 530 to 520 conversion, went without a hitch. Someone cleverer than me (Derek Capito at www.moto-lab.com) machined some shims so that the thinner chain and sprockets would line up correctly.

I had the option to experiment with gearing but it's pretty much spot on on my bike so I kept the original ratio.

Looks like a bunch of people advocate doing the same 520 conversion on the V-Strom 1000. Modern chains are stupid strong, and 520 stuff is cheaper, so it makes all sorts of good sense to do it.

I should really install a chain oiler. I'm so bad at chain maintenance.

Yeah I've seen that. It's neat and a little ridiculous. A helmet is for when you crash - you're supposed to discard it after one impact. It would suck to destroy a $1,500 gadget after a light tumble.

I can't wait until that helmet technology is a little more mainstream. Those are pretty great features.

It's vaporware until further notice. Skully is basically crowdfunding the thing and they won't release it before next year. Their ETA is May 2015, which means it's likely to be 2016 before it's widely available. If at all.

Still not released. Skully is now saying they're delivering next month. Bet you $1,500 they'll delay it again. Great idea(s), stupid and rushed execution.
